Our golden streak continues

Our golden streak continues at Learning Technologies Awards 2025

Autumn giving way to winter means frosty mornings, crunchy leaves underfoot – and, of course, the much-anticipated Learning Technologies Awards ceremony.

Aside from the glitz and glamour of the evening, these awards are a brilliant way to showcase the hard work of the Make Real team, as well as of our fantastic clients.

Even before the winners were announced, we were already proud that three of our projects were shortlisted:

  • For Best use of AI (UK) – AI Storytelling Practice Tool with London Business School. Using generative and emotional recognition AI, this tool gives learners an always-on way to practise telling their personal brand story, with insights built on LBS best practices.
  • For Excellence in the design of learning content (UK) – This Is Me with Lloyds Banking Group. This module is a powerful experience exploring disability and neurodiversity in the workplace aimed at all colleagues in the business. And it’s also available publicly for anyone to understand more about disability and neurodiversity.
  • And for Best use of simulations or virtual environments – Crossmatching, created in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant. This is a VR app focused on the vital lab process of crossmatching to ensure patients receive the correct blood.

The competition was tight as ever – the Learning Technologies Awards are truly prestigious with a rigorous judging process. When you win, you truly feel that you deserved it.

And so, we were absolutely thrilled that each project scored an award!

This Is Me with Lloyds Banking Group took home a Silver with the judges commenting: “Beautifully crafted and sensitively executed, this was an excellent example of learning design. Every choice felt deliberate and well-considered, powerfully reinforcing its key messages.

The AI Storytelling Tool with London Business School scored a Silver too: “This entry shows an innovative and impactful use of AI to help leaders master one of the most important capabilities that’s difficult to personalise at scale: telling their story authentically and effectively. The judges were impressed by how the team overcame complex hurdles to bring this to life, creating a powerful and scalable model for developing this critical leadership skill. An outstanding Silver winner.”

And Crossmatching with NHSBT achieved a coveted Gold: “A very rigorous process and very well created. This submission met all of the criteria to a very high standard and is a worthy Gold winner.”

We’re so very proud of these achievements and to work with clients that push the boundaries of what’s possible in learning and development.
