An immersive 360º video branching experience, to raise awareness of retirement planning options.
Legal & General (L&G) had invested millions in schemes designed to make a positive impact on society. Yet this wasn’t common knowledge among its members. Plus, many members felt disconnected from their future selves and so tended to put off saving in their pensions.
So, L&G set out to create an immersive, emotive VR experience with two key goals:
The intention was to use this with members, internal staff, and as a piece of marketing collateral for pitches, workshops, and conferences.
We worked with L&G on a VR experience making use of 360° branching videos, designed for Oculus (now Meta) Go headsets.
The experience takes participants on a journey explaining L&G’s belief in how shareholder benefits and societal benefits are connected, and that investments should have a positive effect on society.
It highlights several of L&G’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) projects, such as investing in clean energy. The experience then invites the user to consider what they want their retirement to look like and the kind of income they’d need to fund it.
Depending on how the user answers questions on how they’re currently handling their pension, they’ll end up with a different outcome to get them thinking about how they can take action now for a more comfortable retirement.
