We collect the personal data you provide when signing up for newsletters, applying for a job at Make Real, or otherwise contacting us. This may include your name, email address, job title, organisation address, telephone numbers, and other contact details.

  • Contact you about vacancies you’ve applied for or similar future roles
  • Track interactions via our customer relationship management (CRM) platform
  • Deliver agreed services on a project-by-project basis

How long we retain your personal data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. If we have not interacted with you for a period of time, your data will be securely deleted following a review.

Third-party tools we use

Currently we use Mailchimp, part of The Rocket Science Group, to send some of our emails.

We use Outlook Exchange servers for the jobs@makereal.co.uk job applications and external communication, and SAGE HR to store and communicate with job applicants.

We use Pipedrive, part of SaaS.group Inc., as our CRM to keep track of interactions with our customers and business-related personal data.

Recruitment privacy

If you apply for a role at Make Real and send us your CV and/or contact details, either via our website, through an external source, or directly by email, we will collect and process this data for recruitment purposes only.

If you apply through our SAGE HR application page, you’ll receive an email asking for your permission to retain your personal data for up to two years. If you apply by emailing us directly at jobs@makereal.co.uk, we will include a copy of our Privacy Policy in our response to inform you how your data will be used and stored.

With your consent, we may keep your data for up to two years so we can:

  • Contact you if a suitable role becomes available
  • Monitor and improve our commitment to fair, non-discriminatory hiring practices

At the end of the two-year period, we’ll contact you to ask if you’d like us to retain your data for another two years. If you do not respond or decline, your data will be securely deleted.

Tracking and analytics

IP addresses, URLs visited, and related information are recorded for all site visitors for the purpose of site traffic analytics and captured as part of normal operation in our server logs. Cookies are used to track sessions, and collect anonymous traffic data. You have the options to enable or disable cookies for this site when you first visit it.

Though Make Real itself does not use cookies in order to track your movement around the web, our websites and apps may contain APIs from third parties. Specifically, our websites use Google Analytics to help analyse how users use the site. The tool uses cookies to collect internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, including your IP address, is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate use of our website and to compile statistical reports on website activity.

Consumer applications and games

None of our games or experiences store any personal information. We only store anonymous, aggregated information, although your VR device account will have its own privacy policies applied, such as Facebook or Meta accounts for accessing Meta Rift, Meta Go and Meta Quest. You are responsible for checking the privacy policies of the devices you use to access Make Real applications and games.

Mailing list

The information for our Make Real mailing list is stored securely with Mailchimp, who are fully compliant with EU data protection law. You can unsubscribe from the list at any time by clicking on the link on the bottom of each newsletter. We only email individuals who have given consent.

Subject access requests

You can request access to your data, correction of inaccuracies, deletion, or restriction of processing by emailing info@makereal.co.uk with “Subject Access Request” in the subject line. We will respond within one month. Requests that are excessive or unfounded may be refused or reasonably charged.
